About Camps
What is a Science Venture camp?
During the months of July and August, Science Venture runs weekly day camps at the University of Victoria. Each camp group is lead by university students, who deliver innovative, fun, and hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math programming. Campers get the opportunity to explore the university, meet researchers, and conduct experiments in real labs.
Programs are offered to youth who will be entering Grade 1-8 in the Fall of 2025.
WHEN ARE CAMPS TAKING PLACE?
The 2024 Camp season will be taking place from June 30th to August 22nd, 2025.
WHAT ARE THIS YEARS Camp Streams?

WHAT ARE CAMP HOURS?
Summer camps run Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Extended hours: Extended hours provide additional time slots for early drop off or late pick up.
Extended hours cover 8am - 9am & 4pm - 5pm, please register for Extended Hours at scienceventure.ca/register.
*Extended hours are NOT available for Off-Campus Programming
WHEN CAN I REGISTER?
Camp registration opens Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at 7:00 am. Visit scienceventure.ca/register to setup your account today!
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Science Venture operates as a non-profit organization and incurs substantial fees for each cancellation. The later the cancellation, the harder it is for us to fill the spot with somebody on the waitlist.
To offset these costs, our cancellation and transfer policy is as follows:
More than 7 business days before the program’s start date: 100% refund of program price, minus a $50 cancellation fee.
7 business days or less before the program’s start date: 50% refund of program price.
After 9am the Friday before the program’s start date: No refund provided.
Exchange of equal value is possible, subject to availability.
What about students entering grades 10-12?
For students entering grades 10-12 in the Fall of 2024 we have our Junior Counsellor (JC) Leadership Program. For more information, please check out the volunteer page of our website.
Additionally, we have a variety of summer institutes (L.E.D., P.U.L.S.E. and HTU) offered for students in grade 9 to 12. Information regarding our 2025 high school programs will be uploaded to the high school page of our website.
WHAT TRAINING DO STAFF RECEIVE?
Extensive pre-camp training includes: lab safety, WHMIS, earthquake safety, behaviour management, communication, and program design. All Science Venture instructors have:
First Aid and CPR certificate
